2020 Learning & Convening Calendar

Get ready to mark your calendars!

Olympic Community of Health is excited to announce the 2020 learning and convening plan! The calendar below is full of opportunities for partners to collaborate, share, and learn ways to advance the collective goal of OCH: fostering healthier, more equitable communities.

 

The 2020 learning and convening opportunities will:

  • Foster collaboration, resource sharing and continue to strengthen partnerships

  • Nurture a shared vision and path forward for the future of our work together

For implementation partners, the 2020 Payment Model details learning and convening attendance requirements (4 separate events per organization per year). Many of the events listed in the calendar below may be applied to the learning and convening element, and some are required!

OCH is committed to being responsive to partners needs and requests for additional learning sessions and/or convenings, so additional events may be added throughout the year.

Sept 14: Olympic Community of Health Board of Directors Retreat (LOCATION CHANGE)


The OCH Board of Directors will take stock of the Medicaid Transformation Project activities to date and strategize a plan to finish strong in 2021. The Board will also explore health equity and what’s ahead for OCH. Lunch will be provided.

Audience: OCH Board of Directors and Board alternates. For implementation partners, this event is considered governance and does not apply to the learning and convening element of the 2020 Payment Model.

Date & Time: September 14th, 11am- 2pm (standard board meeting from 2-3pm)

ONLINE: Oct 16: Kitsap County Natural Community of Care


Coordinating a Common Strategy- A Natural Community of Care (NCC) Convening for Kitsap County

PLEASE NOTE: This event has been changed to an online platform. The event will take place via Zoom.

Join your Kitsap NCC partners to share successes and explore creative transformation strategies. You will collaborate with partners to create an action plan to improve emergency department utilization. Lunch will be provided.

Oct 12: Equity Presentation


OCH's vision statement is to "build a healthier, more equitable three-county region". Join OCH as we discuss equity principles and strategies​, strengths and challenges in OCH's equity work, and explore opportunities for improvement. Oct 22: NEAR Sciences: Learning Session 2 of 2


Learning session 2 of 2. Kitsap Strong will lead you through the science behind human behavior and will explore the impacts of trauma and toxic stress on our brains, bodies, behavior, and choices. Together, we’ll share ideas and strategies for supporting ALL individuals to discover the skills and opportunities they need to flourish. This is the second of two virtual learning sessions. Please register and plan on attending both days if possible (Oct 15th and Oct 22nd), the content of learning session 2 will build upon the content of session 1.   • Recognize the prevalence of toxic stress and trauma impacting our community
  • Understand the impacts toxic stress can have on our developing brains and bodies throughout the course of our lives

  • Acknowledge what all people need in order to flourish and leave with a deeper understanding of how to nurture resiliency in our communities.
