Coffee Break Video Series: Taking action to address SUD stigma

Olympic Community of Health presents the Coffee Break Video Series, addressing local health issues through community conversations and shared cups of coffee.

This video series brings bite sized conversations (in 15 minutes or less) discussing health challenges directly to your screen. We invite you to grab a cup of coffee or tea and join us as we dive into the third topic: taking action to address of substance use disorder stigma. This video features the perspective and experience of Molly Martin (Executive Director, Jamestown Healing Clinic) and Kaela Moontree (Healthy Communities Specialist,

Kitsap Public Health District).

Ideas to engage with this video:

1. Have your team watch the short video (independently or host a viewing party) and come together to discuss. These videos are open for public use. Some suggested discussion questions are:

  • Where are there opportunities to celebrate small victories and accomplishments?

  • Who is someone (or a group) that you look up to when it comes to addressing stigma? What ways do they take action to support a recovery friendly region?

2. Host an OCH staff member to share the video and facilitate a group discussion with your team.

3. Connect with OCH (och@olympicch.org) to share how your team are creatively addressing stigma. We would love to share your work with the region.
